TEAM
ENSLAC has formed a consortium of three partners who are experts in the use of nature-based solutions in the context of Latin America .
YES Innovation coordinates the project
It is a Franco-Ecuadorian social company based in Quito, Ecuador, since 2015, and specialized in architecture and urban planning. Its urban planning activities systematically integrate Nature-based Solutions as a tool for ecological transition, either in the research phase or in implementation projects in local municipalities, such as in Esmeraldas, Quito, Portoviejo Ambato, Manta, Durán, Samborondón, etc. Its approach is multidisciplinary and combines knowledge of geography, ecology, urban planning, architecture, environmental technologies, urban management and regulation, and public policies.
It is a Sistema B company based in Lima, Peru, that develops solutions for urban resilience and sustainable development using NbS and solidarity experimentation. He works on both international research projects and local projects, combining knowledge of urban planning, landscape, art, ecology, environmental engineering and communication.
The Humbolt Institute (Alexander von Humboldt Biological Resources Research Institute), based in Bogotá (Colombia) since 1993, is a non-profit civil society organization dedicated to research on biodiversity, ecosystem services and its integration into public policies. Based on detailed knowledge of Latin American ecosystems, it studies, among other things, interactions with nature in urban areas and can evaluate the impacts of large projects on local biodiversity.
The Agence Française de Développement (AFD) implements France's policy on development and international solidarity. Through its public sector and NGO financing activities, its research work and publications (AFD editions), its sustainable development training mission (AFD Campus) and citizen awareness in France, the AFD finances, accompanies and accelerates transitions towards a more just and resilient world.
Together with our partners, we develop shared solutions to which target populations in emerging and developing countries are attributed. Our teams work on more than 4,000 local projects in 115 countries in the French Overseas Territories, as well as in territories in crisis, in benefit of common goods such as climate, biodiversity, peace, gender equality, education or health. In this way we contribute to the commitment of France and the French people in favor of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). For a common world.
